Project #1 reflection -- cover letter

In project #1, we started to write cover letter. Before we started to write cover letter, Tammy planed a funny and educational activity. We practiced paraphrasing, and we change a sentence to another similar sentence. And we switch words to synonyms. It is an important activity for us, because plagiarism is illegal. In addition, it helps our project much longer.

  Before I did project #1, I thought that writing cover letter was an ordeal. In fact, it was really a trial. My impression of a cover letter is a cautious text, and cover letter is totally different from our high school application documents. In addition, I thought that we should get various license the more the better. In order to let the company believe that we are the best choice for them.

  After visiting 104.com and 1111.com, I saw various jobs. I searched for “flight attendant” at first; however, because of covid-19 that there was no job opening. Flight attendant is my dream job that I really want to apply in the future. However, I decided to search for another jobs. Then I searched for venue service specialist in National Taichung Theater. It was also my dream job in the future. But, when I read the job requirement, I thought that I need to improve my English ability and have much more experience for the job. After I read the job requirement, I thought that I did not meet those job requirement and I started to worry about my future. This activity really affected my future plans, because it let me know that I have a long way to go. And I also need to know my advantage in order to let the company hire me.

  After I read Chris Young’s and Tammy’s cover letter examples, I found out that I did not know myself very well. And there were lots of difficulties that I encountered when drafting my own cover letter. First, I did not know how to show my advantage and ability in my cover letter. Second, I did not sure the experience which I mentioned was useful or not. Third, I did not know that the job was suitable for me or not. However, I think that it is challenge for me to write cover letter. I hope that I can learn to write a good cover letter through this course.
