Dear Ms. Chen,

I am writing to apply for the position of “venue service specialist” in National Taichung Theater. I graduated from the Department of English Language, Literature and Linguistics from Providence University in June. Auguste Rodin’s famous quotation, “Beauty is everywhere. It is not that she is lacking to our eye, but our eyes which fail to perceive her.” When I was a child, I really loved to visit theaters and museums with my family. Besides, I like to observe the things around me. Therefore, I believe I have the qualification that you are seeking. To this position, I will bring the joy of art, people skills and communication competence.

When I was in high school, I participated in Young Men's Christian Association (YMCA) Taiwan international volunteers in Malaysia for ten days. On the second day, I taught the children to paint masks with watercolor. I remembered that the children were so happy that they drew a picture for me. This was a touching and unforgettable memory. From this experience, I learned that art could bring happiness to everyone. Moreover, I have the ability to spread the joy of art to people, and I can let people expose art through daily life. Another reason that I fit in this position is that I have good people skills. Once I made new friends that I could remember their names and their personality trait in a few seconds. Therefore, I could tour guide the visitors in an appropriate way, and let the visitors make themselves at home when they were in theater.

In addition, I am also good at communication. When I was a sophomore, I got a part time job to promote a shopping app to people at Calligraphy Greenway. Then I promoted 75 people to install the shopping app in two days. Besides, 75 people were the best record in our group. So, I believe that I have a good communication competence, and communication skills are necessary for this job.

As for my language ability, I got score of 645 in TOEIC and I pass the General Taiwanese Proficiency Test at the basic level. I believe that I have the language ability you are looking for. I can not only interpret for foreign visitors but also tour guide the elder. Moreover, I am a team player and I believe that venue service specialist also needs teamwork. If hired, I will do my utmost to be a strong asset to the company.
